Hotel & Guest Accommodation

Greenway Hotel
Hotels

Hotels in Britain come in all shapes and sizes, from the charming country house hotel with ample grounds and picturesque gardens to impressive modern structures in city centres.

They offer a range of facilities and services, depending on location and price. Town House hotels are located in city centres, with a small number of luxury rooms, beautiful furnishings, attentive staff and superb cuisine (or, if without a restaurant, offering 24 hour room service). Metro Hotels are also found in the centre of town and provide full hotel services with the exception of dinner.

As the name suggests, Country House Hotels are found in beautiful rural locations. They are often luxuriously appointed, set in their own grounds, and the rooms frequently have special features such as four-poster beds. Some may have leisure facilities like swimming pools or health spas and may be able to arrange country sport activities such as clay pigeon shooting and fishing.

Prices can vary widely from £70.00 per night outside London to over £200.00 in London, based on two people sharing a room with breakfast. Many large hotels have special offers at weekends and in the low season.

Wherever you wish to visit, and whatever your preferences, you’ll be sure to find a great hotel to suit all your needs.

Monks Pool B&B
Guest Accommodation

Stay in a family run B&B and really experience the British way of life. A home-cooked meal in a comfortable homely environment can make all the difference to your trip.

You’ll get a friendly welcome from resident owners who’ll want to give you every home comfort with that personal touch. They’ll also be keen to offer you local knowledge and recommend places to visit.

You’ll find Guest Accommodation almost everywhere in Britain, from Victorian houses in the city to converted farms in the countryside. Some places may have just one room to let, while others may have more than 10. Whatever the size, they are all comfortable and inviting.

Quality ranges from the simple to the luxurious. Bathrooms aren’t always en-suite, but many offer them as standard.

The main appeal to this type of accommodation is the homely feel. Relax and take in the hospitable atmosphere, and don’t be surprised if you find yourself enjoying breakfast with the family round a big table in the kitchen.

CORNWALL TOURISM AWARDS 2009 - Large Visitor Attraction of the Year - Gold

Dubbed the 'Eighth Wonder of the World' by some, Eden is a dramatic global garden housed in tropical biomes that nestle in a crater the size of 30 football pitches.

With a worldwide reputation Eden barely needs an introduction, but this epic destination definitely deserves a day of your undivided attention. More than just a huge, tropical garden, Eden is a gateway into the relationships between plants and people, and a fascinating insight into the story of mankind's dependence on plant life. Not only a mind-blowing visitor attraction, Eden is also fast-becoming a unique resource for education and knowledge towards a sustainable future.

Experience the sights, smells and scale of the rainforests in the Humid Tropics Biome - the world's largest greenhouse - and discover the tropical plants that are used to produce everyday products. Travel to South Africa and California, as you amble amongst the orange and lemon trees, olive groves and gnarled vines of the Warm Temperate Biome, and in the 30-acre Roofless Biome see hemp, sunflowers and other plants that could change your future, flourishing under the Cornish sun.

A fascinating location, but, more importantly, Eden is a fun and family friendly day out. Curious kids can find out where tea, rubber and sugar come from, and travel the world to the simulated environments of tropical destinations that they dream of traveling to in the future. There are themed events according to the seasons, workshops for adults and children, activity days, music concerts and much more besides. There's no stress about packing up a family survival kit - facilities include on-site restaurants and cafes, gift shops and well equipped child- and baby-friendly toilet facilities. In fact, for a day out you needn't worry about taking much more than yourselves. Eden is also offers easy access to wheelchairs and buggies.

Warm up this winter with a visit to the Eden Project
It might be cold outside, but the temperature in our Rainforest Biome is always toasty with an average of 27 degrees! Take a wander through the landscape of the tropics or the Mediterranean, and discover more about the plants and people that live there.

Skating
Get your skates on and make the most of our ice rink, which will be melting down on the 21st February. Skating costs £5.00 for a 40 min session (admission not included). Please book your slot in advance on 01726 811972.

Half term
This February half term Shaun the Sheep comes to Eden! Visitors can take a look at actual sets used in the Shaun the Sheep TV series, both the farmhouse and field sets will be on display. There’ll even be the chance to meet some of the creative team from Aardman and take part in some ‘claymation’ workshops where visitors learn how to make their own Aardman characters. Workshops are £2pp, best to book in advance by calling 01726 811972 as they’re bound to be very popular!

Spring Comes earlier at Eden…
Take a wander through the outdoor landscape and see if you can spot the first signs of spring- snowdrops, daffodils and, new for 2010, our spectacular crocus field will all be coming into bloom over the next few weeks.
