Hotel & Guest Accommodation

Greenway Hotel
Hotels

Hotels in Britain come in all shapes and sizes, from the charming country house hotel with ample grounds and picturesque gardens to impressive modern structures in city centres.

They offer a range of facilities and services, depending on location and price. Town House hotels are located in city centres, with a small number of luxury rooms, beautiful furnishings, attentive staff and superb cuisine (or, if without a restaurant, offering 24 hour room service). Metro Hotels are also found in the centre of town and provide full hotel services with the exception of dinner.

As the name suggests, Country House Hotels are found in beautiful rural locations. They are often luxuriously appointed, set in their own grounds, and the rooms frequently have special features such as four-poster beds. Some may have leisure facilities like swimming pools or health spas and may be able to arrange country sport activities such as clay pigeon shooting and fishing.

Prices can vary widely from £70.00 per night outside London to over £200.00 in London, based on two people sharing a room with breakfast. Many large hotels have special offers at weekends and in the low season.

Wherever you wish to visit, and whatever your preferences, you’ll be sure to find a great hotel to suit all your needs.

Monks Pool B&B
Guest Accommodation

Stay in a family run B&B and really experience the British way of life. A home-cooked meal in a comfortable homely environment can make all the difference to your trip.

You’ll get a friendly welcome from resident owners who’ll want to give you every home comfort with that personal touch. They’ll also be keen to offer you local knowledge and recommend places to visit.

You’ll find Guest Accommodation almost everywhere in Britain, from Victorian houses in the city to converted farms in the countryside. Some places may have just one room to let, while others may have more than 10. Whatever the size, they are all comfortable and inviting.

Quality ranges from the simple to the luxurious. Bathrooms aren’t always en-suite, but many offer them as standard.

The main appeal to this type of accommodation is the homely feel. Relax and take in the hospitable atmosphere, and don’t be surprised if you find yourself enjoying breakfast with the family round a big table in the kitchen.

Lucknam Park is a magnificent listed Palladian mansion set in 500 acres of extensive parkland. Dating from 1720, Lucknam Park nestles peacefully in a tranquil corner of Southern England just 6 miles from the World Heritage Site of Bath. Since the stunning multi-million pound refurbishment, the eternal elegance of the house has been enhanced with majestic antiques and fine art, sourced from Christies & Sotheby's. These help to produce a luxury country house experience whilst maintaining a warm welcoming ambience. Individually designed, the 41 bedrooms which include 13 impressive suites provide a luxurious foundation for a truly indulgent break. Lucknam is a perfect retreat and offers an outstanding spa, glorious historic surrounding, classically designed gardens, its own unique equestrian centre as well as an award winning gourmet experience. Following the award of our 5th Red Star for Excellence by the AA and the 5 Star Gold Award by Visit Britain in October 2006, Lucknam Park has been recognised with a number of prestigious awards and accolades including the retention of the Michelin Star in 2008, the Hotels Catey’s Hotel Chef of the Year Award 2007 (under 250 covers), awarded to Head Chef Hywel Jones, as well as the prestigious Relais & Chateaux and Moet & Chandon Welcome Trophy 2007. Lucknam Park has been a member of Relais & Chateaux since 2000. In Autumn 2008 Lucknam Park opened The Spa. Contemporary and stylish this eagerly-anticipated Spa sets a new standard of luxury. There are nine state of the art treatment rooms, 5 thermal cabins including Japanese Salt, Amethyst Room, Aromatic Steam, Sauna and Tepidarium. Lucknam Park has appointed French spa specialists Anne Semonin and Carita to supply luxurious, indulgent and innovative skin care products for the new Spa. In addition The Spa features a contemporary dining experience, The Brasserie, with an open kitchen and a wood-fired oven. The food is simply prepared concentrating on seasonal local ingredients from the many wonderful suppliers who share our values on good food.

By contrast The Park restaurant offers a gourmet dining. Ingredients of the highest quality many of which are sourced locally, then prepared and cooked with respect and common sense. Our aim is to provide our guests with an exciting dining experience allowing the true stars of the show ‘the ingredients’ to be displayed at their best.
